7/23/2008 Alison Gary and Alan Yost Join Panther Coaching Staff COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican Athletic Department added two new faces that will patrol the sidelines for the 2008-2009 season as they name Alison Gary and Alan Yost the new assistant coaches for the men's and women's soccer program's.
Also joining the staff this year will be first year assistant coach Alison Gary. Gary is a 2004 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School where she was a four-year starter on the women's soccer team. Gary went on to earn a degree in Economics Management from Ohio Wesleyan University . As a member of the Bishops women's soccer team Gary helped lead OWU to two NCAC Tournament Titles and was a 2005 All-Conference selection. Gary has been active in coaching since her time at Ohio Wesleyan serving as the head coach of the NCSL Eagles U-9 Soccer Club. more
"Our staff has been blessed with some very good coaches since I came to ODU, and Ali is going to continue that trend," said head coach Paul Habrecht. "She has been a successful player with great experiences and accomplishments at very level along the way, but what is really going to be an asset to our program is her passion for team success. Caring for and relating to the players is going to make her not just an effective coach but also a strong role model for the young women in our program," adds Habrecht.
Yost is a graduate of Memorial High School in Pataskala , Ohio were he was a stand-out on the MHS men's soccer team. He later went on to have an outstanding soccer career at Ohio Wesleyan University where the Bishops won three conference titles and finished the 2006 season ranked #2 in the NCAA III final rankings and earned a degree in Sport Management in 2006. From there Yost started his coaching career as the head assistant at Alma College in Alma , Michigan . Yost also served as the head coach of the Eagles F.C. in 2007.

7/22/2008 Panther Teams Earn Academic Honors by Ryan Beigle 
COLUMBUS , Ohio – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is proud to announce the 2007-08 scholar teams. NAIA student-athletes around the country work diligently throughout the year for academic excellence at their respective institutions. This year over 750 teams earned at least a 3.0 team grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the 2007-08 academic year, as defined by its institution. more
The Ohio Dominican athletic department was well represented in the recent release of NAIA Scholar Team Award. The Panthers saw seven programs receive the distinguished academic award.
In women's sports, women's golf earned their third consecutive award with a team G.P.A. of 3.24. Women's tennis, softball, volleyball, and women's basketball also earned recognition, earning 3.23, 3.11, 3.11, and 3.09 respectively.
On the men's side, men's golf and men's tennis each earned consecutive awards with a 3.58 and 3.29 cumulative G.P.A.

7/16/2008 Ohio Dominican Fall Sports Schedules Released COLUMBUS , Ohio – The Ohio Dominican University Athletic Department released their fall sports schedules for the 2008 season. The Panthers' fall sports include football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball and men's and women's cross country.
It looks to be another exciting year in Ohio Dominican athletics as the Panthers enter the fall season. With their most recent announcement of application for NCAA II status, the Panthers are anxiously awaiting word on acceptance. If accepted, ODU will look to make their last years in the NAIA as memorable as last season. A year that saw five of the Panthers 14 varsity sports win their respective conference titles and six teams advance to the NAIA National Championships. more
"We are very excited about the upcoming year," said Athletic Director Bill Blazer. "It has been a busy summer with the additions to the facilities and the success our teams had a year ago, but we are ready to get the 2008-09 campaign under way."
ODU's football team is coming off a record setting season in 2007, and will look to defend their first ever conference championship. The women's soccer team also hopes to defend their title after winning the AMC – South in consecutive seasons. The men's soccer team is fresh off their first national tournament appearance and eyeing a conference championship of their own. The still youthful women's volleyball team won 17 games in 2007, 10 more than the previous year and the men's and women's cross country teams continue to chase a field of excellent teams in the AMC.
